01

Unbox & connect

Check that the packaging is intact, then connect your Trezor using the supplied USB cable. If anything looks tampered with, stop and contact official Trezor support.

02

Visit the official start page

Type trezor.io/start directly into your browser and check the address carefully. This independent guide does not initialize devices or collect wallet information.

03

Install Trezor Suite

Download Trezor Suite only from Trezor’s official website. Follow the app’s prompts to connect your device and install or verify its firmware.

04

Create a new wallet

Choose to create a new wallet and follow the instructions shown on your Trezor. Your device generates a recovery seed during setup.

05

Back up your recovery seed

Write the words down in the correct order on the supplied backup card. Keep it offline and private. Never photograph it, type it into a computer, or share it.

06

Set a PIN & verify

Choose a PIN on your device. Once setup is complete, verify the receiving address on the Trezor screen and consider a small test transaction.

A DIFFERENT WAY TO HOLD CRYPTO

Your keys.
Your call.

A hardware wallet is designed to keep your private keys isolated from an internet-connected computer or phone. You review important actions and confirm them on the device itself.

That added separation can help reduce exposure to online threats, but it cannot protect against every risk. Your recovery seed must stay private, your device should be purchased and initialized carefully, and software should come from official sources.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions, answered.

Keep these essentials in mind as you prepare your device.

Is Trezor.io/start the official setup site?

Trezor’s official start page is trezor.io/start. This page is an independent educational guide, not the official Trezor website. Type the official address yourself and check the domain before continuing.

What if I lose my recovery seed?

Your recovery seed is essential to restoring your wallet. If you still have access to the wallet, follow Trezor’s official guidance to move funds to a newly backed-up wallet as soon as possible. Trezor cannot retrieve a lost seed for you.

Do I need to install Trezor Suite?

Trezor Suite is the official companion app and is the recommended starting point for device setup and wallet management. Download it only from trezor.io/trezor-suite.

Can I use Trezor with a phone?

Mobile compatibility depends on your device model, phone, operating system, and connection type. Check the current compatibility information on Trezor’s official website before you begin.

Which cryptocurrencies does Trezor support?

Support varies by device model, firmware, and wallet app. Check Trezor’s current coin support list for the assets and features available to your particular device.

Does a Trezor come with a wallet already set up?

A new Trezor should be initialized by you. Do not use a device that arrives with a recovery seed or PIN already set. Follow official Trezor guidance and contact support if anything seems unusual.
